The Wolfburn distillery's leitmotiv: to create niche whiskies with a unique personality. With this Small Batch, Wolfburn offers us a whisky that is both smooth and rich.
First aged in first fill Bourbon casks, it is then matured for 6 months in new oak casks to which ex-Bourbon staves have been added. The result is a skilful blend of richness with marine influences.
On the nose, dried fruits are combined with notes of sweet port. On aeration, vanilla aromas are revealed and hints of coffee punctuated by dark chocolate appear. The palate confirms the aromas of the nose, with nuances of caramel and vanilla. A fruity sweetness coats the palate. Flavours of autumn fruits and honey offer a warm and suave finish.
